The Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science
(DIMACS) is a National Science Foundation Science and Technology
Center. It also is supported by the New Jersey Commission on Science
and Technology, and is a consortium of Rutgers and Princeton
universities and AT&T Labs-Research, Bell Labs, Telcordia
Technologies, and NEC Research. DIMACS offers workshops, seminars, and
tutorials, hosts postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, and runs
precollege and undergraduate programs to address topics of scientific
importance. Recent sample topics include discrete and computational
geometry, complexity theory of interactive computing, graph theory and
algorithms, combinatorial optimization, massively parallel computing,
mathematical support for molecular biology, logic and algorithms,
networks, discrete probability, massive data sets, DNA computing,
large-scale discrete optimization, computational intractability, next
generation networks, and computational biology. Future topics include
data mining, computational information theory and coding, and
computational geometry and applications.
