All applicants to Mason Gross School of the Arts must complete two
applications: the Rutgers University application AND the Mason Gross talent
assessment. The talent assessment collects applicant talent through audition,
interview, or portfolio. An additional submission fee, separate from the
Rutgers University application fee, is required on the Mason Gross talent
assessment. Mason Gross applicants are reviewed by faculty members for both
admission and merit scholarship based on the Mason Gross talent assessment. Applicants
receive information on how to access the Mason Gross talent assessment after
the Rutgers University application is submitted. For deadlines, submission
fees, and audition/portfolio requirements, visit https://www.masongross.rutgers.edu/admissions/.
Regardless
of U.S. residency status, an English proficiency examination is required of all
applicants who did not complete an undergraduate
degree in the U.S. or in a country where English is the principal language. Even
if the applicant holds a master's-level degree from the U.S. or from a country
where English is the principal language, the applicant is required to submit a
passing English proficiency exam. To review acceptable exams and minimum
scores, visit: https://gradstudy.rutgers.edu/information/international-students.
