Transfer Credit

The maximum number of transfer credits toward a master's degree is 40 percent of the minimum requirement for the degree. No undergraduate credit may be transferred to meet the requirements of a Mason Gross School of the Arts graduate degree.

Students may apply for transfer of graduate credit from another accredited graduate institution after they have accumulated 12 credits in graduate courses in the master of fine arts (M.F.A.) or master of music (M.M.) program at Mason Gross School of the Arts. No graduate credit is accepted, however, for courses in which the student received a grade below B. Any course for which a student requests transfer credit must be evaluated by the student's graduate program director and the dean of Mason Gross School of the Arts. The responsibility for requesting transfer credit of graduate work lies with the student. It is the students' responsibility to meet with the graduate director in their department and request transfer credit evaluation.
