Doctor of Education

The degree of doctor of education (Ed.D.) is conferred in recognition of high attainment in the constructive study of educational problems and upon demonstrated ability to pursue an independent investigation of an educational problem of practice.

The Ed.D. program requirements are described in this section. More specific and additional requirements of particular Ed.D. concentrations can be found on the pages that describe them.

By the time a candidate has completed approximately 15 credits, a program plan should be completed in consultation with the Ed.D. director or concentration coordinator. One copy of the program plan is filed in the Office of Student and Academic Services, one copy is returned to the student.
