Center for Effective School Practices

Executive Director: Cindy Blitz

Website: http://cesp.rutgers.edu

The Center for Effective School Practices (CESP) is part of Rutgers GSE. Its primary mission is to facilitate the translation of scientific knowledge into actual practice in multiple domains of K-12 education and to promote educational stakeholders' ability to effectively meet the needs of communities in New Jersey and throughout the country more generally. CESP staff conducts original evaluation research to identify best instructional practices and effective interventions to promote student learning and achievement as well as to provide technical and administrative support to Rutgers GSE researchers, others at Rutgers, as well as additional stakeholders who engage in externally-funded research activities. The center also offers conference and institute planning and development to GSE faculty as well as school districts. CESP is an integral partner in the Regional Educational Laboratory Mid-Atlantic, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education to investigate best educational practices for school districts and state departments of education and to promote the use of research data to inform and guide education-related decision-making and policy in the region.
