Language and Cultural Proficiency Requirements
Proficiency in the target language is to be demonstrated through an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI). To schedule the OPI, contact the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) at http://www.languagetesting.com. OPI results must be on file with the Office of Student and Academic Services prior to student teaching.
There is no OPI for Latin; however, there is a Latin test requirement: http://www.state.nj.us/education/aps/cccs/wl/latin_test.htm.
