Connie
Hoyos Nervi, Psy.D., is a graduate of the Institute of Graduate
Clinical Psychology at Widener University (Clinical '98) and has a dual
appointment as assistant teaching professor in the clinical Psy.D. and master in
applied psychology programs. She serves as the practicum coordinator for
students from both programs providing oversight for practica and other training
opportunities. She serves as an adviser to graduate students concerning issues
related to professional development, practica placement, and applications. She
teaches a CBT Supervision group in the clinical program and a Professional
Practicum course for second year master of applied psychology students.
Dr.
Hoyos Nervi represents GSAPP as a Chair-Elect for the Pennsylvania and
Delaware Directors of Training Consortium (PENDELDOT). She served as an assistant professor of psychiatry at Robert Wood
Johnson Medical School where she supervised psychology students and psychiatry
residents and taught medical students. Dr. Hoyos Nervi helped coordinate
several NIH-funded national conferences in Latino mental health and was an
integral part of the research team for various NIH-funded grants. She has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the
areas of somatization and Latino mental health. She has a volunteer faculty
appointment at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in the Department of
Psychiatry and maintains a private practice. Dr. Hoyos Nervi's clinical work has
been primarily with individuals who suffer from mood and/or anxiety disorders
and behavioral medicine with sensitivity to acculturation issues.
