Master of Psychology (Psy.M.)

The degree of master of psychology (Psy.M.) is awarded to students matriculated in each of the three doctoral programs upon meeting the program requirements noted below; no students are admitted only for a master's degree.

The clinical psychology program requires two full years of coursework at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (a minimum of 36 credits), of which 27 credits are specific, required courses. Students also must complete at least 12 experiential credits and have successfully completed the general comprehensive examination plus the case-related question of the clinical psychology program comprehensive examination.

The organizational psychology program requires completion of the first two years of coursework as stipulated in the sample five-year program, plus satisfactory completion of the general comprehensive examination. Students must also pass the oral specialty exam and all required coursework. This program is no longer accepting applicants.

The school psychology program requires completion of the first three years of coursework as stipulated in the sample four-year program, eligibility for the New Jersey school psychology certificate, and satisfactory completion of the general comprehensive examination.
