M.P.P./M.C.R.P. Dual-Degree Program

The dual-degree program with the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy 's sister program leads to a master of city and regional planning (M.C.R.P.) degree and a master of public policy (M.P.P.) degree in three years. Students are accepted independently for both graduate programs after separate application to each but share concentrations, course electives, and requirements.

Three-Year, 72-Credit Dual-Degree Program (36 M.C.R.P. and 36 M.P.P.)

Note that this is a savings of 24 credits compared to earning the 48-credit M.C.R.P. and the 48-credit M.P.P. degrees separately. Each degree program effectively accepts 12 credits from the other program. Three methods courses are required and should be approved by the faculty adviser and both program directors.

Public Policy (PP): 24 credits of core courses; 12 credits of concentration or elective courses; the remaining 12 credits are urban planning (UP) courses that are transferred toward the M.P.P. degree.

Urban Planning (UP): 24 credits of core courses; 12 credits of concentration or elective courses; the remaining 12 credits are public policy (PP) courses that are transferred toward the M.C.R.P. degree.

Concentrations are available in community development, transportation, environment, and energy, among others. A sample model flight path is outlined below but can be modified based on individual needs.
