Students may qualify for graduating with honors in German by fulfilling
the regular requirements for the German major and the following
requirements:
1. Write a senior honors thesis of 25 to 35
pages. The topic for the thesis is arranged with an individual faculty
member and written as an independent study project during two semesters of
the honors program while the student is enrolled in course 50:470:493
or 494.
2. Maintain a 3.5 grade-point average in the German major and a 3.0 overall cumulative grade-point average.
Students interested in the honors program should consult with their adviser before the beginning of their senior year.
In
recognition of satisfactory completion of the honors program, the
registrar will note on the student's permanent academic record: "Honors
in German."
