In April 1988, Rutgers University's Board of Governors established a school of business at Rutgers on the Camden Campus. The School of Business–Camden received approval from the New Jersey Department of Higher Education in May 1988. The school then received accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International in 1995 and received reaffirmation of accreditation in 2003. In September 2008, the School of Business–Camden began directly admitting first-year students to the undergraduate program.
