To integrate the interdisciplinary course approach, students must take the foundation course, Introduction to Media Studies 50:920:342,
which introduces them to the critical and theoretical paradigms of media studies and its applicability to a range of disciplines. This course serves as a basis for
the minor.
Students then take 9 credits in the core area, which introduces them to the main branches of media studies.
Finally, 6 credits are taken in the advanced studies area, which allows students to focus on an area of media that is most interesting or applicable to their personal studies.
