The Rutgers School of Business-Camden master of science in business analytics (M.S.B.A.) is a fully online, 30-credit graduate degree program that can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis.
The rapid growth of technology has generated increasing amounts of data, which has led to strong demand for individuals skilled in data analytics. Organizations are seeking individuals capable of gathering, analyzing, and mining large data sets in order to gain insight into various processes, to improve efficiencies, enhance productivity, and boost profitability.
Data can be mined to analyze flow and traffic patterns, predict customer purchase and churn, detect fraud, etc., across a variety of industries including: high technology, not-for-profit, medical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, retail, credit, banking, gaming, hospitality, real estate, utilities, trucking, and transportation. Business analytics combines the skills of data science with domain-specific knowledge of business to best strategize how data analytics can help an organization achieve its core objectives.

The M.S.B.A. comprises 10 courses in which students will acquire knowledge of statistics, machine learning techniques, and relevant software (e.g., R, SQL, Python, etc.) with direct applications to business domains such as marketing, operations, finance, and accounting. With this degree, candidates will learn how to acquire, clean, describe, segment, and model data, validate models, and clearly communicate results to stakeholders, while appreciating legal, ethical, and strategic issues involved.
