Program

The master of arts program in criminal justice promotes study for those seeking career opportunities or advancement in justice-related fields as well as for those who seek preparation for doctoral studies.

The graduate program builds on the multidisciplinary strength of the faculty. The criminal justice faculty emphasizes social science theories and methods for a comprehensive understanding of crime and the justice system, including contemporary issues affecting it, and the analytic skills required to conduct and to apply research to assess policy. Students may also take courses in public policy and administration, whose faculty stresses the skills to oversee complex public agencies. Faculty members from the Graduate School–Camden and the School of Law-Camden provide the program with a wide array of justice-related electives.

The program is open to part-time and full-time students. Required courses are offered in the evening hours. Some elective courses are available during the day.
