The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences prepares students with the geosciences major for graduate studies or careers in the petroleum or mining
industries, environmental geology, oceanography, land-use planning,
teaching, business, and law.
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences also offers
graduate studies in several areas of the geosciences; it is possible to obtain
the bachelor of science/master of science degrees in five years.
