Honors are awarded to not more
than 10 percent of the graduating class for distinguished scholastic
attainment during their time at the law school. In exceptional cases,
high honors and highest honors may be awarded. The awards are made by
the faculty on the advice of the Committee on Scholastic Standing.
Recipients are announced at the graduation convocation.
Order of the Coif.
first New Jersey chapter of the Order of the Coif, the nationwide honor
society for law students, was established at the School of Law-Newark
in 1991. This prestigious society, which admits the top 10 percent of
each year`s graduating class, encourages excellence in legal education
