School of Social Work Student Association
In addition to the university's Graduate Student Association, the School of Social Work has an active student association (SSWGSA). If you are a graduate student, you are automatically enrolled as a member.
Established in 2005, the SSWGSA is a vibrant association that:
-
supports and encourages
social, academic, and professional development of social work best practice by
M.S.W. and Ph.D. students;
- serves as a conduit for
dialogue between students, faculty, and administration; and
- advocates on behalf of the
student body to the administration.
Student Mentor Program
The peer mentor program links first-year M.S.W. students with more seasoned
students who can help with questions about classes, concentrations, even
parking.
If you are interested in participating in the mentor program please
contact: Monika Lenart, Mentor Coordinator (mil27@scarletmail.rutgers.edu). Community Service
Each year, we provide volunteer hours and financial support to various
nonprofit and charitable community service organizations.
SSWGSA Executive
Council
The SSWGSA executive council meets once a month, September through
May. These meetings are generally held in the School of Social Work
Building (536 George St.), Room 209. However, you could also attend via
videoconferencing. Elections are held every spring and officers serve a
12-month term that begins in May.Graduate Student
