The Rutgers School of Public Health Alumni Association (SPHAA) became a Rutgers University Alumni Association chartered group in 2018. It was initially formalized in 2009 with the first governing board elected in 2010. All graduates of the Rutgers School of Public Health, as well as the former New
Jersey Graduate Program in Public Health and the UMDNJ-School of Public Health,
are automatically members of this association. In addition to supporting the school's
mission, the SPHAA encourages partnership,
stimulates interest, and promotes communication among and between alumni, the school, and the local, state, and global public health
communities.
Among other areas, SPHAA aims to:
-
promote and strengthen camaraderie among alumni and
between alumni and the School of Public Health;
-
promote the pursuit of alumni careers as a lifelong
learning process; and
-
support students with scholarships and mentoring including fieldwork, employment opportunities, and perspectives of the public health
professional.
