The three-course (nine-credit) graduate Nonprofit Management Certificate program offered by the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University-Newark provides pre-career and in-career students with graduate studies in the area of nonprofit management and leadership. This concentrated area of study prepares students who are interested or working in the nonprofit sector to develop competencies in important elements of nonprofit organization management and performance.
Students seeking the Nonprofit Management Certificate complete three (3) courses for a total of nine (9) credits from the following SPAA graduate courses:
- Nonprofit Budgeting (3)*
- Grant Writing and Grants Management (3)
- Resource Development for Nonprofit Organizations (3)
- Intergovernmental and Intersectoral Management (3)
- Program Evaluation (3)
- Principles of Nonprofit Leadership and Management (3)*

After receiving the certificate, non-degree students can count certificate courses toward the completion of the MPA program.
