Fellowships, Scholarships, and Grants



The following fellowships, scholarships, and grants are awarded through the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA):

Diversity Fund.  This fund provides financial assistance to graduate students in public administration who, through scholarship and research, are furthering SPAA's mission of diversity. This support may be in the form of a scholarship, or it may be used for travel or other costs incurred in the process of conducting research. This research must be monitored by a member of the faculty, a faculty adviser, or a program director.

Louis Eckstein Fellowship.  This fellowship is awarded to an incoming M.P.A. student residing in New Jersey who demonstrates the potential to be academically and professionally successful. The Eckstein Fellowship will be awarded in the beginning of each academic year (fall semester) during the two to three years of the fellow's participation in the M.P.A. program. The recipient must maintain a 3.5 GPA and be committed to completing the M.P.A. program in three years.

E. Drexel Godfrey Memorial Award.  This award is presented at graduation for the highest grade-point average in public administration.

Annette McIntyre Fellowship.  This fellowship provides financial assistance to graduate students enrolled in the master of public administration program on the Newark Campus and is awarded based on academic merit.

Marcia Lynn Whicker Memorial Fund.  This scholarship provides financial assistance to a full-time graduate student enrolled at Rutgers, and is awarded based on academic merit.
