The demand for professionals with expertise in long-term care is growing rapidly due to the increasing number of older adults among us. It is estimated that by 2050 there will be 27 million Americans who require long-term care. With a degree in health care management with a focus on aging, an individual can expect to work in long-term care settings (e.g, nursing home, assisted living facilities, or continuing care retirement communities), hospice, hospitals, or a variety of other health care settings in a leadership position. Graduates will be in a position to direct and oversee operational aspects in health care settings including personnel and labor assessment, training, human resources, and regulatory, license, and organizational/facility policies and procedures. Graduates will be positioned to manage the care of the older adult population and direct others to provide high-quality care to our growing aging population.
