Program Description


The master of science in health information management (MSHIM) is a 36-credit online program consisting of 33 credits of core courses plus 3 credits from elective courses. The curriculum has been carefully designed based on the guidelines set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and incorporates competencies pertaining to health data content and structure, information governance, information protection, informatics, data analytics, revenue and financial aspects, compliance, and leadership. The program culminates with Special Topics in HIM, a course that focuses on practice-oriented problems and research. Program may be completed full-time or part-time.
