Upper-level Rutgers undergraduate students may apply to the director of the relevant master's program for permission to register for selected master of library and information science (M.L.I.S.) or master of communication and information studies (M.C.I.S.)
courses. Permission is based on the student's academic record and
professional and academic goals. Undergraduates may transfer credits
for M.L.I.S. or M.C.I.S. courses toward the M.L.I.S. or M.C.I.S. degree
if they are subsequently admitted to either program, provided such
credits were not used for their undergraduate degree. Students wishing
to make such transfers must register for E credits while in the
undergraduate unit.
