Scholarships

Scholarships specifically for first-year and new transfer students are awarded by the Office of University Undergraduate Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid in consultation with the dean of the college and specific committees, as appropriate. Application for admission also serves as an application for these scholarships. Contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions-Newark (973-353-5205) for more information.

The following list constitutes scholarships limited to students enrolled in the Newark College of Arts and Sciences (NCAS) and University College-Newark (UC-N) and provides very brief eligibility criteria for these scholarships. Unlike those mentioned in the previous paragraph, consideration for these scholarships is not limited to students recently admitted; currently matriculated students are also eligible. Selection for these scholarships is typically made either by the NCAS or UC-N scholarship administrator or directly by academic departments based upon student achievement and other scholarship eligibility criteria. For scholarships associated with specific major programs, interested students should contact the department chair for information. The official schoolwide scholarship application is made available every spring semester; students may apply during this time to be considered for all school-based scholarships.
