Candidates who are admitted to the Graduate School-Newark are notified by the Office of Graduate and Professional Admissions. The school may cancel a student's registration, however, if he or she fails to satisfy the conditions of admission.
Candidates are expected to register for the semester for which they were admitted. Those who fail to do so must notify the admissions office of their deferment, or they may be required to submit a second application and fee to be reconsidered for admission at a later date. In addition, they may have to provide a transcript(s) of any intervening college work.
Admission to the Graduate School-Newark does not constitute admission to candidacy for an advanced degree. Students must submit an application for such candidacy to the dean of the Graduate School-Newark and follow the procedures set forth in the Degree Requirements chapter.
