Goals
The following post-master's certificate program goals are designed to convey the mission and key goals of Rutgers School of Nursing:
- Integrate
knowledge of the discipline and functional areas of practice to improve
health and practice outcomes of diverse populations.
- Lead change initiatives to improve practice and patient outcomes utilizing evidence and technology.
- Provide
leadership in the delivery of high-quality, safe, evidence-informed,
coordinated, patient-centered, culturally competent care to diverse
populations.
Outcomes The School of Nursing post-master's certificate graduate is prepared to:
- integrate
knowledge from nursing and related arts and sciences in the design and
delivery of patient-centered, population-focused care;
- apply
concepts of organizational and systems leadership to facilitate
coordination of interprofessional care to improve patient and
organizational outcomes;
- design quality improvement and safety initiatives that enhance system efficiency and reliability and optimize health outcomes;
- apply research/best practice evidence in nursing leadership and practice to enhance care and improve outcomes of nursing;
- apply informatics and health care technologies to enhance patient care and outcomes of nursing practice;
- engage in policy development, fiscal management, and advocacy to improve health outcomes;
- use effective communication and collaborative strategies within the interprofessional team to improve health outcomes;
- incorporate
culturally competent care strategies for prevention, wellness, and risk
reduction for individuals and populations; and
- influence health
outcomes through master's-level nursing practice that emphasizes
patient-centeredness, coordination, and population-focused care.
Expectations
for student learning outcomes are clearly articulated in each course
and contribute to the achievement of the overall program outcomes.
