Goals
The following D.N.P. program goals are designed to convey the mission and key goals of Rutgers School of Nursing:
- Integrate scientific knowledge in the expansion of clinical expertise in evidence-based leadership and advanced nursing.
- Lead
and evaluate care delivery approaches to create healthy work
environments, advance health care quality, and improve population
outcomes.
- Synthesize, translate, and disseminate best practices
to influence quality and safety outcomes for individuals, populations,
and organizations.
Outcomes
The School of Nursing D.N.P. graduate is prepared to:
- integrate scientific underpinnings at the highest level for advanced nursing practice;
- lead organizations and systems to enhance quality and safety to improve patient, population, and organizational outcomes;
- lead
strategic initiatives to influence public policy and promote value in
health care and improve the patient experience and population health;
- synthesize,
implement, evaluate, and disseminate best evidence for advanced nursing
practice to optimize organizational and health outcomes;
- utilize information technology to improve and transform health care delivery at the individual and population level;
- develop,
implement, evaluate, and disseminate interdisciplinary models of care
that enhance patient and population health outcomes;
- incorporate epidemiologic principles in evidence-based practice and improvement of population health outcomes;
- develop, intervene, and evaluate health care and fiscal policies that impact the health of diverse populations;
- influence individual, population, and organizational outcomes though D.N.P.-level professional practice and leadership.
Expectations
for student learning outcomes are clearly articulated in each course
and contribute to the achievement of the overall program outcomes.
