135 Business Administration Minor


This minor is only for non-RBS students: Rutgers students from other schools, departments, and majors can expand their education and enhance their careers by earning a minor in business administration at Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-New Brunswick. The minor benefits any major by giving students skills and knowledge to compete globally while broadening their appreciation for how the world works.

Path to Minor

Rutgers Business School's undergraduate program in New Brunswick offers a minor in business administration to provide students with a strong foundation in the broad functional areas of business. The 18-credit minor consists of six 3-credit introductory courses covering each of Rutgers Business School's disciplinary areas. This combination provides a substantial and comprehensive overview of the major aspects of business administration.

The business administration minor requires the successful completion with a grade of C or better of the following courses:

33:010:272  Financial Accounting (3)
33:390:203  Introduction to Finance(3) (prerequisite: Financial Accounting [33:010:272]) 33:620:301  Introduction to Management (3)
33:630:301  Introduction to Marketing (3)
33:799:301  Introduction to Supply Chain Management (3)
And a choice of one of the following:
33:136:287  Introduction to Business Analytics (3) OR
33:136:385  Statistical Methods (3) (prerequisite: Calculus) OR
33:136:386  Operations Management (3) (prerequisite: Calculus)

Please note that if you intend to transfer into Rutgers Business School, none of the 200-level courses required for the minor will transfer in except for Financial Accounting 33:010:272. With the exception of Introduction to Finance and Introduction to Business Analytics, all of the above courses are taken alongside RBS majors.

Be informed that students may not double minor in business administration and entrepreneurship. Eligibility to be admitted into the minor requires the student to meet all of the following criteria:
  • Good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or better.
  • Successful completion with a grade of C or better of Precalculus College Mathematics (01:640:115) (or placement out of Precalculus).
  • Successful completion with a grade of C or better of Statistics I (01:960:211). [Introductory Statistics for Business (01:960:285), Basic Statistics for Research (01:960:401), Basic Statistics for Exercise Science (01:377:275), Basic Statistics for Sport Studies (01:377:276), Basic Statistical Methods (10:762:205), Quantitative Methods for Psychology (01:830:200), or Analysis of Social Science Data (01:920:312) may be substituted for Statistics 1.]
