College Credit Earned in High School

For students who complete courses in high school that are reported on a college transcript, a maximum of 12 credits may transfer, with no more than two courses in a given semester.

For courses taken at New Jersey community colleges while the student is in high school, courses taken at the high school and recorded on a college transcript, or courses taken the summer prior to matriculation at Rutgers, njtransfer.org cannot be used to determine course equivalencies. These courses, though they may have Rutgers equivalents in njtransfer.org, may only transfer as elective credit, or may not transfer at all if taken while the student was in high school.

In some cases credit for military, professional, and continuing education classes may be granted credit at Mason Gross School of the Arts provided there exists a clear equivalent in the Mason Gross curriculum.
