Undergraduate information technology and informatics (ITI) majors who have completed at
least 90 credits in their undergraduate program can be considered for
admission
into the dual-degree pathway to the master of information (M.I.) degree,
allowing students to earn a bachelor's degree and master's degree in
five years. ITI
majors who are admitted into the dual-degree pathway take two graduate
courses
in each of the fall and spring semesters of their senior year. Those
courses
are selected based on student goals and M.I. program requirements. These
four
courses (12 credits) count both as undergraduate ITI electives and
fulfill master's requirements as long as the student earns a grade of B
or better. Upon
successful completion of coursework in the senior year, dual-degree
students
will graduate from the undergraduate program and transition into the
graduate
program as an M.I. student. The master's can then be completed in one
year of full-time study or two years of part-time study.
