Academic Credit for Transfer Courses

A student who transfers from another institution may receive degree credit toward School of Communication and Information majors only for those courses that are equivalent in content and credit to courses in the curriculum of the relevant major. Departments set a limit on the total number of transfer courses that will count toward the major at Rutgers. In order to count toward the major, transfer courses, like Rutgers courses, must be completed with a grade of C or better. Transfer credit from another institution is not included in the student's cumulative grade-point average at Rutgers. Students are urged to contact the school's student services office to have specific courses evaluated for credit toward the major.
