Advising and Plan of Study

The information technology and informatics program, sponsored by the Department of Library and Information Science, offers a variety of advising options for its students. Basic information is provided on the school's website. To address more complex questions, students are encouraged to schedule appointments with the director for the major, other department faculty, or student services advisers in the school. All courses are not offered every semester, and students are encouraged strongly to check course prerequisites carefully and formulate a plan of study that will enable them to develop a coherent area of concentration in the major that meets their career goals while taking into account course availability. Students should seek advising through their four-year school regarding appropriate minors, double majors, and school requirements in concert with the major in information technology and informatics.

Several specializations are available within the information technology and informatics program, including game production and innovation. Please check the website for current offerings and course options.
