The Nicholas Music Center on the Douglass Campus contains three large dance studios, six faculty offices, and a concert hall for the Department of Music and public events. The proscenium theater on the Douglass Campus is available to students performing in major faculty and bachelor of fine arts senior concerts. The dance studio and audio/visual studio in Corwin Lodge are used exclusively by dance students. In addition, the studio and performing facility in the Loree Building are used for dance classes and performances by students, faculty, and visiting artists. Mortensen Hall opened in the fall of 2013. This wraparound facility melds existing venues into a cohesive and vibrant performing arts hub and features Richard H. Shindell Choral Hall; a large public atrium featuring Cafe '52 coffee, sandwich, and sushi bar; and a technology studio for sound recording and engineering. It also includes the Presser Foundation Practice Studios for music, the Kevin Goetz Theater and Dance Studio, and a suite of faculty and administrative offices for the dance department.
