Advising
Students considering a program in the School of
Communication and Information (SC&I) should contact the Office of Student
Services to speak with an academic adviser. The office is located in
Room 214 of the SC&I Building (CI 214) and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome and appointments can be scheduled by calling the
office at 848-932-7500 (select option 2). The office also provides guidance to admitted students throughout their
program of study, and certifies students for graduation requirements.
Faculty in the school welcome the opportunity to discuss programs of
study with students as well. Directors of the undergraduate programs are a good source of information about the coursework and career directions of their major.
Questions about academic programs can also be emailed to undergraduate advisers at the following email addresses:
- comm@comminfo.rutgers.edu: for questions about the communication program
- iti@comminfo.rutgers.edu: for questions about the information technology and informatics program
- jms@comminfo.rutgers.edu: for questions about the journalism and media studies program
- dcim@comminfo.rutgers.edu: for questions about the digital communication, information, and media program
