School of Engineering (SOE) students who are enrolled jointly with the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) in the bachelor of arts/bachelor of science (B.A./B.S.) program must earn 30 degree credits beyond the total degree credits required for the B.S. engineering degree alone. Courses used to satisfy requirements for the liberal arts degree may also be used simultaneously to satisfy SOE humanities/social sciences, technical, and general electives if such courses are normally accepted for credit toward the B.S. engineering degree. There is no limit to the number of credits that may be used to simultaneously satisfy SAS and SOE requirements.
To qualify for both degrees, students must satisfy all B.S. SOE requirements including humanities/social science, technical, and general electives; all SAS major requirements; and all SAS general education requirements. If the liberal arts degree is in mathematics, computer science, or the natural sciences, the SAS minor must be in a subject within the humanities or social sciences.
