Withdrawal. A student who wishes to withdraw from the
university with grades of W must consult the associate dean for
academic affairs and fill out a withdrawal form. Students who leave the school without officially withdrawing receive a grade of F in each
incomplete course. Unless excused because of reasons beyond their
control, students who withdraw after the 12th week of the term receive
a grade of F in all courses. The refund of tuition is calculated
from the effective date as indicated by the dean on the withdrawal form
submitted to the registrar.
Readmission. Students
who interrupt their registration in the School of Engineering and wish
to return must apply for readmission to the associate dean for academic
affairs.
Those who leave in good academic standing and who do
not have outstanding financial obligations to the university ordinarily
will be readmitted if they apply by December 1 for January entrance or
August 1 for September entrance. Later applications receive special
attention if space is available.
For the school's policy on
readmission after dismissal for academic reasons, see the Scholastic Standing section later in this chapter.
