Facilities


Facilities used by the Department of Music include 50 practice rooms, several large ensemble spaces, Schare Recital Hall, Shindell Choral Hall, Voorhees Chapel, Kirkpatrick Chapel, and numerous teaching studios, classrooms, and offices. The Nicholas Music Center is an 800-seat concert hall. The Robert E. Mortensen Hall is a state-of-the-art facility featuring 22,000 square feet of performing and practice spaces as well as a recording studio.

The school owns pianos, organs, harpsichords, and a fortepiano. The Blanche and Irving Laurie Music Library contains approximately 53,000 books and scores and 18,000 recordings. The library also hosts the Performing Arts Library Seminar Room and a music technology classroom.
