Field Placements
Rutgers Law students have the opportunity to get real-world experience, learn outside of the classroom, and work closely with practicing lawyers through the Field Placement Program. Field placements include governmental, public interest, and nonprofit organizations where students earn academic credit under the guidance of a faculty adviser or externship director. This allows students to research a particular field, deal with issues of professional responsibility, get on-site supervision from a practicing attorney, and gain practical experience that builds upon their law school education.
