Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education

Director: David J. Shernoff

Associate Director: Edward Cohen

Senior Program Administrator: Brielle Kociolek

Senior Program Coordinator: Meeta Desai

The Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education (CMSCE) brings together the expertise of individuals from many disciplines, within and outside the Graduate School of Education, to contribute to the achievement of educational excellence. It fosters collaborations among educators, researchers, and business leaders to enhance the learning and teaching of mathematics, technology, engineering, and science (STEM). The center offers in-district embedded professional development, mentoring, coaching, and curriculum development, as well as workshops at the CMSCE. The center has particular expertise and experience in high-quality, ongoing teacher education and training mathematics. We are on the forefront of training and implementation of integrative STEM and STEAM education, the Next Generation Science Standards, maker education, climate change education, engagement and motivation, project-based learning, and 21st-century skills and technologies. With the support of federal and state grants, we have formed partnerships with school districts throughout New Jersey.
