This 15-credit online graduate certificate program is available to students enrolled in master's and doctoral programs in many fields at Rutgers, and is open to all with a bachelor's degree. Participating sports professionals (i.e., teacher-coaches, youth sport coaches, administrators, athletic directors, coach educators and developers) and others will develop and improve their athletic coaching skills and knowledge to better meet the needs of their students. The program includes an athletic coaching core (3 courses) and an education core (2 courses). Participants will gain competencies in equitable teaching/coaching diverse student populations and evidence-based methods to increase motivation and engagement. This program does not include coursework leading to a New Jersey school personnel license.
