The Graduate
School of Education welcomes students to take classes on a non-degree basis.
Applicants should file an application with the Office of Graduate and
Professional Admissions. Applicants who are accepted as non-degree students are
permitted to register for an unlimited number of courses with approval of the
appropriate department chair. Such courses carry full Rutgers University
credit; in most programs, however, a maximum of 12 credits will be accepted by
the school toward a degree should the student later be admitted to a degree
program.
Non-degree
students who wish to enter a degree program in the Graduate School of Education
must file a separate application and fee for admission with the Office of Graduate and Professional Admissions. Successful completion of non-degree
coursework does not guarantee later admission to a degree program.
NOTE, not all education courses can be taken on a non-degree basis. Please contact the Office of Student and Academic Services for information and assistance:

Non-degree study is not available to international students.
