The master of education (Ed.M.) in college student affairs at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is a 42-credit course of study designed to prepare individuals to work with students in a variety of administrative and advising positions in colleges and universities.
Students in the program pursue a rigorous course of study tha
t integrates theoretical, empirical, and professional learning opportunities into the total educational experience. The program's design, resources, and learning goals are consistent with standards and outcomes articulated by the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the Council for Advancement of Standards (CAS).
The college student affairs program prepares graduates for employment in postsecondary institutions and programs that serve college and college-bound students. Program graduates work in housing and residence life, student unions, student activities, career services, new student orientation, student services for special student populations, retention programs, student conduct, academic advising, academic enrichment services, and fraternity and sorority advising.
