This 48-credit master's degree program prepares professional school counselors to perform school counseling duties in grades preschool through 12.

These duties include services such as study and assessment of individual students with respect to their achievements, abilities, interests, and needs; counseling with administrators, teachers, students, and parents regarding personal, social, educational, and career plans and programs; and developing cooperative relationships with community agencies in assisting children and their families.

The programmatic focus addresses multicultural and diversity issues in schools and developing comprehensive counseling programs that encourage all students to succeed.

The Ed.M. program in school counseling is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The program meets all New Jersey state requirements for New Jersey School Counselor and Educational Services Certification
