The Graduate School of Education offers a postbaccalaureate master's degree/initial teacher certification program in English as a Second Language Education.
The program requires that a student have a bachelor's degree with a major appropriate to the area of licensure, 90 credits in liberal arts, and satisfaction of the general education distribution. The requirements needed to satisfy the general education distribution can be found in the Office of Academic Services, Room 110, Graduate School of Education (732-932-7496, ext. 8132).

Language and Cultural Proficiency Requirements

2. Evidence of second/foreign language or cultural experience, such as experience living in a second cultural setting; completion of one or more foreign language course(s) (minimum 3 credits); acquisition of second/foreign language (in a nontraditional setting).
