should apply to only one of the two programs offered: school psychology or clinical psychology.The two programs use the same application and have a common deadline of
January 9.
Admission
Requirements
- Application fee: Currently $65.00; fee subject to change. Fee may be paid by check or credit
card.
- Official
transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended, in
the sealed envelopes that you received from the provider. Transcripts must be mailed to the Office
of Graduate and Professional Admissions, 56 College Avenue,
New Brunswick, NJ 08901-8530.
- Three
(3) completed letters of recommendation, which must be submitted electronically (we no longer accept
paper copies of letters of recommendation).
- Graduate
Record Examination (GRE)* scores, which include general test scores and
psychology subject test scores. Please indicate Institution Code 2790 when registering for the
exams with ETS; scores are sent electronically from ETS to our Graduate
Admissions Office.
- Test
of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is also required of all foreign
applicants whose native language is not English. The TOEFL requirement may be waived for
applicants who can present sufficiently compelling evidence of their
abilities in English.
- Résumé
must be submitted electronically (uploaded into the application) at the
time of application.
- Personal statement must be submitted at the time of application.
General Admission
Qualifications
Consideration for admission into any of the Psy.D. programs
requires a bachelor's or master's degree, preferably with a major in
psychology; an excellent scholastic average; scores from both the Graduate
Record Examination general test and the psychology subject test; favorable
recommendations from at least three persons who know the academic and personal
qualifications of the applicant; and appropriate statements from the applicant
as stated on the application form. Requests for admission interviews are too numerous to honor. However, the admissions committee may invite
applicants for an interview after the initial screening of written
applications.
