The master of public informatics
(M.P.I.) program is designed specifically for students with undergraduate degrees in a
wide range of fields,with sufficient quantitative skills via coursework, work experience, or a combination thereof. Prior programming or data management skills would be valuable but are optional. The M.P.I. program will educate professionals in the competencies needed in public informatics: data science, statistics, programming, data management, data analytics, visualization, spatial analysis, and applied machine learning, text analytics, natural language processing and artificial intelligence. Graduates of the M.P.I. program will bring state-of-the-art knowledge, cutting-edge skills and a deep integrated understanding of context, data and technology for strategic insights generation to public organizations, government agencies, businesses with a focus on public good and social organizations.
