Programs of Study

The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy offers programs of study leading to the bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree in planning and public policy and bachelor of science (B.S.) degrees in public health, public policy, urban planning and design, and health administration. These degrees are issued jointly by the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Rutgers University-New Brunswick undergraduate schools.

The Bloustein School also offers a direct admission program leading to a B.A. in planning and public policy or a B.S. in public health, public policy, urban planning and design, and health administration. These degrees are issued solely by the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.

Minors are also offered in all five of the Bloustein School's areas of study, as well as a minor in public administration and management. The Bloustein School also allows students to double major/minor across programs. Students in the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, or other professional schools need permission from their dean's office.

Exceptional, well-prepared students who are admitted to the Bloustein School may be invited by the faculty to pursue dual-degree programs (B.S./M.P.H. for public health majors, B.S./M.P.P. for public policy majors, or B.A. or B.S./M.C.R.P. for planning and public policy majors or urban planning and design majors).
