History
Located in the heart
of the Camden Waterfront at the foot of the Ben Franklin Bridge, just across
the Delaware River from Philadelphia, Rutgers University-Camden is an institution with an
international reputation for research, teaching, and service. Highly regarded
for the scholarly accomplishments of its faculty and students, and treasured
for its community leadership, Rutgers-Camden plays a unique role as the most
prominent institution of higher education in southern New Jersey.
Founded in the 1920s,
Rutgers University-Camden began as the South Jersey Law School and the College
of South Jersey. In 1950, the two schools became the Camden campus when it
merged with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
In 1988, the growing
demand for business offerings led to the founding of the School of
Business-Camden, the first business school in southern New Jersey to earn
prestigious accreditation from the AACSB International. Today, the School
of Business-Camden is a premier institution for undergraduate and graduate
studies.
The School of Business
is highly valued as a school of choice, a business community resource, and a
provider of top-quality business training and executive education. The school offers,
through its Executive Education unit, professional certification programs in a
variety of business disciplines as well as customized individual and corporate
training programs both online and on-site. In addition, the school hosts the
Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the tri-county area. The School of
Business and the SBDC work closely on many projects and offerings that benefit
entrepreneurial and family-run businesses in communities throughout South
Jersey.
Boasting various

programs offered online, Rutgers School of Business-Camden remains a
distinguished and sought after choice for higher education. Attributes of the school include:
