The registered nurse to bachelor of science (RN-BS) track is designed for students who already hold a registered nurse (RN) license. The curriculum builds on the existing
foundation of nursing knowledge and clinical experience possessed by
registered nurses. The RN with an associate's degree or a hospital
school diploma will receive 33 credits for previous nursing courses
and can transfer up to 90 additional credits for previously completed
nonnursing required courses. A minimum of 30 credits must be successfully completed at
Rutgers. Although most students attend this program part time, the required
RN-BS courses can be completed in one calendar year with full-time
attendance.
The RN-BS track is currently offered in a hybrid format at two locations: Atlantic Cape Community College and Mercer County Community College. In addition, we offer a fully online program. Students are admitted for both fall and spring
semesters. Applicants must have a valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey (for the hybrid programs) or in their state of residence for the online program. Nursing courses are offered in online
and hybrid formats. Nonnursing courses may be offered online, in the classroom, or in hybrid format.
If you have any questions about this program,
please see the Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden website.
