Plans of Study
The Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden school nurse certificate program prepares registered nurses to fill the important role of school nurse in K-12 educational institutions across New Jersey and become vital partners who advance academic success of students and contribute to the well-being of families and communities. Our accelerated program offers two tracks--a school nurse certificate and a school nurse certificate with a pathway to a master of nursing with a specialty in school health services. To learn more about these tracks and the courses included in each, please visit the SNC website.

Student Practicum/Student Health Teaching
The student teaching and the school health office clinical experience will take place while taking the 21st-Century School Nurse Practicum courses, and school nurse program students will be placed in a school setting with a certified school nurse preceptor. The student will receive careful mentoring and guidance from the certified school nurse. The course professor will work with certified school nurses in selecting, monitoring, and evaluating all student clinical experiences in the school setting and community partner experiences.
